USA - Great American Wheel Route (2025)

The route starts at the Space Needle in Seattle, WA and ends at the Washington Monument in D.C. The route was developed to minimize the number of busy roads that must be taken to cross the United States. It focuses on rail trails, bike paths, canal towpaths, gravel roads and back country roads all with no or limited traffic. Where busier roads are used, the route attempts to find roads with good berms and minimize the amount of time spent on roads with traffic. The route also attempts to provide ample resupply, camping and lodging options along the route. There are sections, especially in eastern Washington, eastern Montana and eastern Wyoming where resupply can be limited so plan ahead and make sure you have adequate water and food.
