Following Europe’s mighty western border, reaching from Scandinavia to South and Western Portugal, the Atlantic Coast Route visits the majestic fjords of Norway, the wild Irish coastline, the rough cliffs of Brittany and the sun-kissed beaches of Portugal, totalling 11,000 km. Along the way, you will not only be seduced by bustling port cities and cosy fishing villages but also be impressed by dramatic landscapes and have the chance to enjoy the best seafood each country offers.

The route starts at North Cape: the northernmost point of Europe, on the Barents Sea's coast. You will ride south, through the land of the Sami people, and you might get to observe flocks of reindeer along the route. From the city of Tromsø you will follow the coast southwards through Senja, Andøya and Lofoten, where steep mountains rise high above the ocean. At the Helgeland coast, you will cross the Arctic Circle and say goodbye to the midnight sun. But this area still has daylight for most of the night in the summertime!
Note: on this part of the route you will have to cross a lot of tunnels and take many ferries.
